GeyserMC: Bedrock players see the backpack on the back and a placed one as a barrel. The Bedrock pack and its mappings install themselves in Geyser.

Optional, never required: the plugin works without them too.

One backpack, real rules

The contents live in a registry on the server and the item carries only an id: a copied backpack is caught and removed.

Away 30 days: someone may adopt it

When an owner has not logged in for 30 days the backpack is lost, unless someone used it in the last five days: then it becomes theirs, take-only if they already have too many. Maintenance mode stops the clock while the server is closed.

How it plays

Bedrock sees it too

With GeyserMC, Bedrock players see the backpack on the back of whoever wears it, and a placed backpack as a barrel. Backpack copies its Bedrock pack and item mappings into Geyser by itself.

Never in a chest

It takes too much room: chests, shulker boxes and bundles refuse it. The one exception is the death chest of Siege, where it falls with you.

Hard to destroy

Lava, fire, explosions and despawning cannot touch it. Dropped into the void, it comes back.

The model

A small resource pack, downloaded from wmods.it on join. You can host your own copy and point pack.url to it.

Works with

Backpack works on its own. With these plugins installed they know each other, and more happens.

The backpack goes down with you (Siege): when you fall, the whole backpack ends up in your death chest. If nobody comes back for the chest, the backpack is lost with it.
A lock on the backpack (Gods): put a [KEY] sign on a placed backpack. Only its owner can lock it.
Travel light (Backrooms): the Raid portal turns backpacks away: you go in with what you carry.
A tidy backpack (Magic): /tidy backpack sorts the backpack in your hand.

Install

Download the jarFrom Modrinth or Hangar. One file per plugin.
Put it in pluginsCopy it into the plugins folder of a Paper & Purpur 26.2-3 server.
RestartA full restart, not /reload: Paper plugins do not survive a reload.
Choose the languageSet language: en or it in its config.yml, then restart or use the reload command.

Configuration

config.yml: the resource pack (URL, SHA-1, required, kick), the Bedrock pack for Geyser, backpacks per player, seconds to open, place and pick up, the effects of carrying, the 30-day clock and adoption, the recipe. Texts in lang/. The plugin keeps the name Zaino inside the server (jar, folder, /zaino). Paper only, not Spigot.
